Decide what the recipient needs
A colleague discussing a proposed time usually needs the cities, date, working hours, duration, and selected instant. They do not necessarily need the internal project title or private notes. HourBraid’s share link carries the scheduling configuration and excludes those private text fields.
Read the share summary before copying
Check that the intended locations and date are present. A wrong city can produce a perfectly valid conversion for the wrong participant. Verify any overnight availability and the duration as well. The link is a snapshot of the configuration you are sharing; later local edits do not remotely update the recipient’s copy.
Understand where the configuration is stored
The encoded configuration follows the # character in the URL. This is the URL fragment. It is not part of the HTTP request target used to fetch the page. The browser reads it to restore the view after the page loads.
The complete link is still readable by anyone who receives it. Messaging tools, clipboard managers, browser history, screenshots, or a person forwarding the link can retain that information. A fragment is a useful transport mechanism, not encryption or an access-control system. Share only configuration you are comfortable sending.
Choose another format for another purpose
A project JSON export preserves an editable plan and may include a title or notes. It is appropriate for your own backup or a deliberate handoff of the whole project. Inspect the contents before sending it to someone else. An ICS file carries calendar events, and may include the event title you selected for export.
A timetable image or printout is easy to read but is a snapshot. It does not preserve the full editable settings. Give the recipient enough date and zone context to interpret it, especially when one row crosses midnight or a recurring schedule changes after DST.
Review the recipient’s restored view
Ask the recipient to check their city’s local date and time before treating the proposal as agreed. Different availability assumptions may change the shared window. The site does not send invitations, notify people of edits, or connect the two browsers. Once the group agrees, use your own calendar application to arrange the event.
