Know where a saved plan lives
Saved plans are stored in the current browser profile on this device. There is no HourBraid account or remote synchronization. Another browser or profile will not automatically see them. Clearing this site’s storage can remove the saved copies, and restrictive browser settings can prevent saving.
Download an editable backup
Open Export and choose the JSON backup. The file preserves the selected cities, anchor, date and time, working hours, duration, recurring choices, and any private title or notes stored in the plan. Keep it somewhere you control. Inspect it before sharing, because it contains more than the configuration-only link.
Choose Export all on Saved plans to download one JSON file containing every saved plan, including its title and private notes. A single-plan backup still works for moving just one plan.
Import with validation
- Open Saved plans and choose Import JSON backup.
- Select an HourBraid project file.
- Wait for the schema, version, city or zone, date, hour, duration, and recurrence settings to be checked.
- Open the restored plan and review the local dates and availability before exporting new events.
The importer checks the entire file before saving anything. You can keep up to 50 saved plans. A complete backup can be up to 1 MiB, while each individual plan must fit within 64 KiB. A matching plan ID is imported as a new copy; it does not replace your existing plan. If any plan is invalid, the combined collection exceeds the limit, or browser storage refuses the write, existing saved plans stay in place.
If the file is rejected
A malformed file, unsupported version, unknown zone, invalid setting, or excessive file size produces an error. The app validates every candidate before adding any imported plans. Existing saved projects remain unchanged by a rejected import. Do not delete your only valid copy while troubleshooting a file.
Choose the right handoff format
The JSON backup retains editable settings and optional private text. A share link includes the reproducible scheduling configuration while excluding the title and private notes. An ICS file stores resolved events. A timetable image or printout is a readable snapshot. These formats serve different purposes, so retain a JSON copy when you expect to edit later.
Recover from a storage problem
If the app cannot save, the current plan may still be visible in the page. Download a JSON backup before navigating away. Avoid assuming that a “saved” label applies to another browser, another device, or a cleared profile. A local backup is your portable recovery path.
